Since the community is brand new, we wanted to start with just a few features for all of our members to get their feet wet. As we grow and learn, we’ll add even more features! Here are a few things you can start doing in the group right now:

Home

This tab brings you back to all of the rules and helpful tools you may need to learn how to utilize the community.

Share

This tab allows you to view all of the content that members are talking about - from making and saving money, budgeting, retirement and more of what YOU asked for! Here’s where you can also submit your own posts in the group!

Learn

We know that you all are great resources for each other, but we also wanted to provide a section where you can view the latest content from us! This tab allows you to access some of our blogs -- from how to budget to starting a savings account. Find our community guidelines, resources, FAQs and more.

Connect

This section is all about you! Here is where you can view all of the other members in the community AND make any changes or add updates to your profile. Upload an image or use our super cool Abe avatar, add interests, areas of expertise and more!

Activity

This section allows you to view all of your recent activity in the community. No more wondering where that post was that you last commented on - it’s all right there for you to see! This is also where you’ll be able to view activity on any posts or threads you’ve opted to follow.

FAQ

How do I post?

Under the Join the Discussion tab, you can select any of the topics in the drop down. Once you do that, you’ll land on the page for that topic. In the right hand corner, you’ll see a blue button that says “Post.” Click that, follow the instructions and boom! All done.

How do I comment on a post?

Once you click into the post from the thread, you will see a reply box. Type your response there and then click “Post Reply.” You’ll be able to track all of your activity through the activity section.

How can I follow a post or thread?

In the community, you have the ability to see what content you want, when you want, without having to sift through content that may not be relevant to you. If you want to follow a specific post, you can click on the post and click the “follow” button at the top. If you’d prefer to follow an entire thread, (say you’re interested in all things “Save Money”) you have the ability to follow the entire thread by going to it and clicking the “follow” button at the top.

How can I adjust my notifications settings?

You have the ability to determine how often, or not, you’d like to receive email notifications about threads you’re following, your profile and more. Simply click the wheel at the top right, next to your name, and find notifications. Once you click that, you’ll have the ability to establish whether you want notifications

Why does my post need to be approved before it’s published?

Those who were previously in our Facebook community group will remember that sometimes spam happens. We’re aiming to cut through the noise and make sure that only valuable information for our members gets through. In order to make sure our community isn’t being bogged down with referral codes, links and invites to “join me” or “PM me for more info,” we will be vetting the first five posts from every member to ensure the highest quality!

What are activity points?

Activity points are points that you can accumulate in the community that can earn you certain titles, permissions, etc. Different actions are worth a different number of points.

How can I earn points for activities?

For each activity you complete in the community, there will be an opportunity to earn points. After you reach a certain number of points, you’ll have the opportunity to earn new community titles, have access to new features and more. More to come on this!

Am I able to sign in through my social media channels?

Yes, we want to make it as easy as possible for you to login to the new community. When logging in, you’ll be able to select from a list of social channels, including Facebook. Click “Login with Facebook” and you will able to sign in straight from there.
