I've visited Stonehenge a couple times and will be there in May. It is a very other worldly place. If you do go I recommend arranging a visit through the Stonehenge Stone Circle Access program. You will be able to walk around inside the stones. Otherwise, you will have to stay outside the roped off area.
An other worldly place, and rightly so @friardave. It is believed the Druids (Celtic Pagans) built Stone Hedge as a place of Worship. Somewhere around the 17th Century. There is No Way I stay outside the roped area and will gladly pay the 45 quid... But how many people on average usually go for the Stonehenge Stone Circle Access program? Or how many are allowed at one time?
When we were there, this time, there were about 20 other folks. We all tried staying out of each others way. Not like our first time there. It was us and 3 other people.
Regardless, if you can go, I highly recommend it.
