How Bad Is Inflation?

Now my EV is 16% less expensive for fuel. My electricity cost has not changed in six years of EV ownership costing <4¢ a mile for 100% renewable electricity.

Gas here in South Texas, $2.85 a gallon for regular up from $2.58 in a three-day period. Carton of Marlboro Blacks $67.50 up from $62.25, over 9 month period. Some food stayed the same price while others increased. Tyson chicken was recalled according to a sign at my grocery store just 4 days ago. I buy store/generic brands to save some money along with in-store coupons. My electric bill is higher too.

Gas has definitely been higher this year all over the country. I will say however, that gas where I live his been surprisingly cheaper than the national average. Just this morning I saw that it was $2.77 a gallon here in rural Va. I will be filling up today as a matter of fact!

Gas here in Los Angeles is $4.23 a gallon. Thank god I don't have to drive to work.

Beef has gone up tremendously in my area (SW NM, USA). Even ground beef is not affordable. I only shop the sales but beef seldom is on sale at a reasonable price. Chicken is higher but the sales in cycles at the grocery store I buy from, when they do not sell their high priced chicken, i.e. thighs, legs, breasts, they freeze the packages and have a big sale of $.89# or less, so I stock up my freezer. Pork is still fairly reasonable except for bacon.

Other than the beef, everything else food wise has either increased in price or decreased in package size to try and fool us with same price. I usually buy frozen salmon steaks and those seem to be the same price. The increases of food prices in general have become quite noticeable but we manage by eating smaller portions.

wow the price of gas WHY????

our gas in upstate New York is 3.19 a gallon and i don't understand why????

I live in southern Maryland and the price yesterday was $2.97.  I'm afraid it will go even higher now that the hurricane has messed things up in the Gulf!
