I accept that I must pay taxes.  I never fought in a war and I'm glad my taxes paid the us military to do that for me.  I appreciate the   I 44 and I 70 in my state and I am so pleased I did not need to cut thru the mountains or pave those roads.  I'm so pleased my down the street neighbors were found guilty for being dishonest and running their business fraudulently and were placed in federal prison and I did not need to house them in one of my vacant bedrooms and fix their meals!   Those things don't come cheap, and I do appreciate paying taxes so I don't need to shoot a gun, build a road or house prisoners on my own.  I do grimace a bit when I pay my quarterly taxes, but my aged back really does not want to start building roads.  Shelia

My taxes are most definitely too high! Like many people, I lost my business during the pandemic so I collected unemployment for 5 months last year. I had the maximum amount taken out of each check, but I am still getting stuck with a $500 Federal/State tax bill this year. Unemployment most definitely helped, but it was a significant decrease in income, so I am really surprised that I owe taxes. Ugh.
