Retiring is a term that needs updating because it is a change in life style and of course income. So at this point, what I need is a source of income that is interesting and creative that can generate a additional funds. My background is in the medical field and it will be wonderful to have a lower stress day to day plan. or no plan.I am a recent suscriber the...

Hello, I'm new at Penny Hoarder and am surprised at all the many types of topics available on this site to either discuss for advice or assist with ideas. I am retired, am not yet eligible for SS, and I receive a modest retirement from where I worked for 32 years. We pretty much live on my husband's retirement and SS retirement income. In 2016 we refinanced our home and changed it from a 30-year loan to a 15-year loan. Big Mistake. My husband was working with another partner in a law firm...

Hello, My name is Jeanne from Michigan. I am debt-free, work 35 hours a week at a job I enjoy and am a year or two away from my retirement. Looking toward retirement I feel that my biggest challenge will be learning how to (should the need arise) rebuild my emergency fund or in general be able to build a savings account while living on a fixed income. Any/all suggestions are welcome!

This may be a little late but check out Cambly which is ESL teaching right from home, no training, choose your hours. All done online. Pays each Monday via paypal. Pays by the minute, when you are online with a student. Every call is a different situation or country to talk with. Not a ton of money but can reach around $10 per hour. Some situations you are guaranteed paid if you get calls or not. Totally flexible hours and days. 10-21 cents per minute. Good support and technical assistance.

Hey there! My name is Melissa. I'm a Community Relations Specialist at The Penny Hoarder. My primary financial goal is to pay off my credit cards!! Credit cards can be amazing but they make it so stinking easy to over spend. A follow up goal of mine, is to track my spending on paper each month and stick to a limit. This way I'll remember each credit card swipe and hopefully I won't rack up credit card debt like this again!

Hi everyone, I have been with the Penny Hoarder for quite some time. But never really introduced myself. I'm an affiliate marketer, aspiring writer and blogger from South Africa. Been making some extra money on the side with ClickBank for some time now. Not a dotcom millionaire though...not yet. But working toward that. And luckily I'm stubborn enough to refuse to give up. I know the feeling @Melissa . Also landed myself in the hot water with credit cards a few years back. In fact I paid them all up, and cancelled them. Then worked up a little money on the side. This way I have never really needed credit cards again. I'm a blogger, aspiring writer and affiliate marketer. Which is also how I managed to generate that little backup cash on the side.

I think we share the same gratitude @FreebiePharm . The Penny Hoarder is most certainly the place to be. One of the most engaging audiences I have had the pleasure to come across online. I'm an aspiring blogger and affiliate marketer which is also my side hustle. I'm also an Electrical Projects Manager in our family business. Staying optimistic is important, I have to agree. Which is why it is so important to find what you love doing most. Because then it will be impossible to give up.

Hello, everyone! My name is Jenny, and I am from Schaumburg, IL. I am currently working on paying off my credit card debt! I started last April with about 21k in debt, but now I am at just a little under 14k. Penny Hoarder has given me a lot of great ideas for paying off debt as well as changing my mindset toward finances. Right now, I'm in the process of transferring most of the debt over to card with no interest on balance transfers - another idea I got from PH!
