I've self-published a book on Amazon Kindle--they have a site with instructions on how to do that and I found them easy to understand. You might also want to look into WritersMarket.com.

Re: Family and Finances- How much did you learn growing up?

Katie Pellicano Leslie ·
According to my parents and older siblings you could've called me a money hoarder. I did jobs around the house at 4 to earn money. My mom was a saver, but my mom always had trouble with my dad. They ran a business until he retired. Out of the 3 of us, my mom said I am the best at saving, then my brother, and my sister use to be okay at it but not good over the years. I guess I remember always afraid of being broke. I cried when my mom took my money to the bank (age 4)until I understood the...

Re: Corona-Cash

Dear Penny ·
@Theodora So much in this bill! It still needs to go to a vote by the House, which will happen on Friday, and then to President Trump for signing. It's expected to pass easily. Here are the big points: - Singles who make less than $75,000 will get $1,200 and married people who make less than $150,000 combined will get $2,400, in addition to $500 per child under age 17 in the household. If your income is above these amounts, you get 5 cents less for every $1 above that — so you don't get...

Re: Women's Month

Mo Brownies ·
I am going to try it out. Unfortunaetly - there is alot of stipulations. For example, i must continue the direct deposit for 90 days. and the 17% will only be based on your FIRST direct deposit. you must also keep up to 90% of that amount in your account.

Financial Fitness February: Day 13

Moore Income ·
Today was a tiring day for me, mostly because I didn't get a lot of sleep last night, however, financially speaking things went pretty well today. 1.) Sourcing Discontinued Items Although, I am trying to slow down my sourcing and focus more on listing, there were two stores that I still wanted to check out. Ace Hardware & The Home Depot I was able to get around to all 3 Ace Hardware stores in town today but only scored big at one and then got 3 of one profitable item at another. The...

Financial Fitness February: Day 17

Moore Income ·
I really don't have a lot for today's post other than to say that overall it was a great day. I ended up staying up until 4 in the morning today so that I could pick my wife up from the train station since she was coming back from Illinois. Because today was Presidents Day, she didn't have to go to work (at a school) so we were able to sleep in and then just spent most of the morning relaxing. In the afternoon and evening, I got a few chores and errands done while my wife was babysitting and...

Question? Deadline on first EIP???

Stef77 ·
I am curious if anyone in this community can help me with my stimulas issue that I still have not received due to using the Non filers- enter payment here tool incorrectly. I used the non-filers tool when I wasn't required to. I have been on SSDI since 2007, with Direct Deposit and I am not required to file any tax returns. I should have received my stimulas check automatically without needing to take further action bc I receive my benefits via direct deposit every month and the IRS was...

Selling my Timeshare

Debra Benigno ·
I want to. sell my Marriott timeshare. I don’t hold a mortgage on it. I pay an annual fee of $1400. My deeded week is platinum, is lifetime and can be passed on after death. Marriott no longer offers this option. I’ve been an owner for 17 yrs. The timeshare no longer fits my life style. Any suggestions? Timeshare Companies want $1500 upfront, before they sell.

Re: Deep, Dark Hole - No Hope in Sight

Detkar ·
I am sure you are a nice person, but you don't seem to want to take a step back here. Step back and look at the big picture. You have two sons, are either working and contributing to the household? At 17 I worked full time (I know, different era) but even when I worked part time I had to give some money to my mother. If you have 2 cars, see if you can lower the insurance with just liability insurance? Can you sell one and have your wife use Uber? Instead of refinancing, can you take out a...

Re: Not having someone to bounce ideas off.

Jobelle Collie ·
Thank you for the ideas. I’ll be 60 this year, where did time fly to? When I divorced my children’s father, he required that every year I turn over accounts of what I spent the child support on. Our children were 7 years and 4 months old. I guess he wanted proof of the $3000/month he was sending. I opened checking accounts, one for each child and purchased carbonless checks. Every January 1st, he got a shoe box full of the carbons and I let him work out the numbers! I NEVER cashed those...

Re: Stimulus with tax obligations

Dear Penny ·
Hi there, @E. B. ! You should still receive the stimulus check even if you owe back taxes. The only debt that could stop people from receiving stimulus checks is unpaid child support. Since she is a dependent, your daughter won't be receiving a $1,200 stimulus check. However, if she's under 17 (and we still aren't when the cutoff will be for a 17th birthday), you should receive the $500 credit for your daughter. Owing back taxes shouldn't affect the credit.

Re: WHAT ABOUT CHILD SUPPORT PAYMENTS?

Dear Penny ·
Hi @Pepsi ! Unfortunately, this is one of those questions that no one seems to have the answer to. (Same goes for what the cutoff birthday will be for a 17-year-old for the purposes of the $500 credit... No one knows!) The best answer I can offer is: It seems like the regular rules for child support and tax returns will apply, which is that someone who's behind on child support's refund (or credit in this case) would be taken and given to the person they owe. One issue is that no one really...

Re: RENTERS INSURANCE

Leslie Kay ·
For renters insurance, I recommend highly Lemonade. It is completely online. It is the cheapest that you will find around and they let you specify exactly what you want to cover or not cover. For an extra $10 a month you have a $0 deductible and receive immediate payment for most items if you have all the necessary documentation ready. I had a policy since they opened about 3 or 4 years ago and in 2019 I had 3 claims and they canceled me though. I had never made a claim before, ever with an...

@Leslie Kay , first, I would like to thank you for replying back to my post. It is appreciated. As of today, when I checked the Get my payment on the IRS website, it still states, "Payment Status Not Available. I have been doing tons of research regarding my issue and have found nothing. And the IRS isn't taking any calls regarding the stimulas payment and I don't know how to get through to speak to someone in order for me to explain what I did in error. I just want to be able to to explain...

Citibank did me the same way. Had them for 20 years. They went up 17% when the financials started crashing, so I advised them I would not use them again. They ended my account two years ago.

Re: Giving to Charity

Regeniu$ ·
I started a nonprofit that grew from local to national. I lost a baby in 2007 at 17 weeks gestation. He was tiny and fragile, and there were no suitable clothes for him. Over the next year, my mother worked on making things, but they were too big. I wanted no part of it... but at the same time I wanted it to be right. I consulted pathologists and OB nurses for the design. Ten years later, this organization is growing exponentially and I allow the Holy Spirit to run it. Totally donation...
