Hey all,
Does anyone have ideas for a temporary / short term job or part time job for someone who works in hotel event operations and just got laid off? With everything closing down it seems like a virtual gig is the best option but wanted to throw it out there if anyone had ideas.

My suggestion would be to look on Twitter or LinkedIn. I've been seeing many positions advertised on my feeds. At the moment, I'm not remembering which exact companies, but I remember the positions were in the realm of marketing and digital marketing support or content creation. I believe both forums have job search tabs. Hope that helps- but I am positive that there is currently a need for remote and digital positions to be filled...now, and I have very strong feeling, in the future as well.

There are customer service jobs from home and if you are physically able, Walmart and Amazon are looking for extra workers to fill pickup/delivery orders.
I relate. I'm in hotel event operations too--fancy way of saying I'm a dishwasher. Just know that you're not alone. I freelance for CopyPress in my spare time, but haven't had a lot of work lately. They're always looking for writers, though, and Constant Content is a site I've had a lot of luck with, but they only pay once a month if I recall correctly.
Rev.com is fast and work from home. You can work as much or as little as you want and from wherever too.
If you have it in your area, Shipt. I've done it for 2 1/2 years and I've done well. The last few weeks have been insanely busy. There are not enough shoppers for the number of orders coming in my area, Detroit metro. I've worked 30 hours this week and without holding back taxes, made $1000. Before the craziness hit, I worked c. 15 hours/week and made c. $300. Good luck! I hope you find something.

I open accounts for an online shopping club. People shop every single month so it is a great way to create some residual income. We have products that address peoples' current health concerns: hand-sanitizer, anti-bacterial soap(s), disinfectants; along with products that will boost our immune system. People order and it comes directly to their door. No fighting the crowds of hoarders. I have been with the company for many years. I help people open their account. This is a great option for people who are "stuck" at home. I can work remotely and/or locally, meeting people in restaurants and coffee shops; so now, it is being done all remotely. There are so many ideas. We don't have to fear this Coronavirus; but we do need to be wise. I just wanted to throw my two cents in and let people know what is available. Thanks!

Don't forget to check out ratracerebellion.com as they have great options for work at home. Indeed, for other areas you might be willing. I plan on sitting down and figuring out what skills I have. Some colleges are offering FREE classes so it might help to take one or two that you might need.
