I put all my 5 dollar bills I get from change in a ziplock bag for my travel/emergency fun. After 3 years I have $1500 plus.

That's a great idea. Do you do 1's as well, or just $5?
That's great! I heard this tip years ago and wish I could afford to save $5.00 bills.
This is a great tip. I save my change.
Our 27 year old son has picked it up
so now he finds soda machines that
will take $1 or $5 and he buys a soda
to get change. He has saved up allot
My kids and I save change and that is their spending money while on vacation. It nets them about $50 each, so that's good! This way they are not bugging me for souvenirs, etc, and it teaches them budgeting and some delayed gratification!
Thanks Bonnie. It all adds up doesn't it?
I always follow a 50-20-30 plan myself. Every time I get a paycheck, I put 50% towards bills and essentials, 20% in savings/emergency funds, and 30% in fun money. It really helps when you have irregular income because you don't over spend during the good months and barely get by during the bad ones.
