I was recently working out of town near a DHHR office and upon leaving we saw bins of free veggies in front of DHHR. My co-worker and I assumed they were for those receiving government benefits and not the general public at large.
Would you or do you take advantage of free food giveaways where you live?

You could always go in and ask who the veggies are intended for.
Never have. I may when I retire at the end of this year.
I like free food... but in most cases the food being offered for free does not fit in my personal healthy diet that I am trying to follow so I would probably not get free food.
Free food can be really tempting. I would prefer to donate though, honestly. Even if I'm struggling a little with money, I know I have it better than a lot of people. My spouse has a huge heart and will always donate to anyone in need. I guess it's rubbed off on me.
