We save our change all year for vacation. I give it to the kids for spending money- when it's gone, they are done. Works great for us!
@Nadine Brown I am with you there. One thing you can do to save on a small basis is that when you receive change back from shopping is to put it in a jar. Eventually, you can put it in the change counter. Cash it in at the bank, and put it in your saving.
I do this too. I exchange the change every few months, but check to see what the transaction fees are. I know that the Coinstar at my Publix I think there's a 10% transaction fee (it keeps going up). At my credit union there is no charge I don't think.
