Hey there, Penny Hoarders!
Each week we'll be showcasing the latest community news and updates in an announcement post. This is a great way to keep you all up-to-date on the latest happenings.
+ Do you have something you would like to talk about but it doesn’t quite fit into a category? Never fear! The General Discussion board is here! Whether you want to discuss a topic that you don’t see a thread for, or talk about your fur babies, here’s the place.
+ Are you an Amazon shopper or would you rather shop somewhere else? We have three easy questions for you in this survey. We would also love to hear more of your thoughts as to why you may not want to use Amazon too!
+ Reminder: If you haven't updated your email notifications settings yet, you can easily do that by going to your profile and clicking on "Notifications."
Most talked about threads
Shout out to @Kirsten Cherry! She posted our most talked about thread this week with 11 replies. Kirsten is deliberating if her family should continue to rent or if they should buy a home. Like any future, there are the typical uncertainties that lie ahead for Kirsten and her family. Buying a home is a big decision. What do you think? With your experiences in mind, would you buy or would you rent?
Community member @Deon Christie, also posted a popular thread this week. In the world we live in today, the internet is riddled with scams and suspicious characters. Have you found any companies, programs or systems that are legitimate and you can earn money from? A few community members share their experiences. Feel free to share your thoughts and see what other programs people are saying.
Each week, we'll be sharing some of the wins in our community - big or small!
+ @KellyFromKeene realized she needed a financial makeover and took control!
“I went through a time where life just turned upside down, and I realized that I needed to make some significant financial changes. It’s amazing how I was 'struggling' when there was 3 times the money I make now, coming into the house. I did a complete overhaul of my expenses and cut out what was not necessary. It was brutal but good! I did 'no spend' months, set up several different accounts for savings, and budgeted. I got rid of all credit cards for 5 years and lived only on what I made. I saved any 'extra' money, like tax returns, or I used them for something I needed, but had to wait for.”
+ @BeckAtsila is saving up for a trip to Iceland!
“I get paid on Fridays and each Friday put aside a small amount of money into the Stash app--I'm saving up for a trip to Iceland. I work in the restaurant business and get free food and free coffee, which helps out with my grocery bill. Right now I'm concentrating on paying debt, but had to raid my emergency fund for this month's payment because my hours at work got cut due to road construction.”
+ @MissyD is almost credit card debt free!
“I don't owe but on one credit card and that will be paid off at the end of this month.”
Don't forget to throw these members a big congrats!
