Unemployment sends you a preloaded debit card with your unemployment funds on them! They haven't sent paper checks in a long time because of this issue. When you receive unemployment compensation, your benefits may be paid via a debit card (also known as a direct payment card or electronic payment card). The card will be provided to you by your state unemployment office. It will be mailed to you once your claim is approved. I suggest you go onto the unemployment web site and check.

Thank you yes I have the debit card but that's for the regular unemployment state I'm talkin about the $600 checks I don't have direct deposit so that does not come but only by paper check and I haven't gotten them I've gotten a few was supposed to get 17 and I got six so I'm missing 11 and I'm having to argue with them because they're saying that they sent them and I can't prove that they sent them so now it's a big thing for them to find the missing checks and I don't even know if that's a scam because I just don't want to send them to me but I did not receive 17 $600 checks that I can promise you

Depends on the state. Oregon still delivers the first check by paper and the rest are on the card or direct deposit. Because of the backlog, my cousin got 8 checks in the mail all at once.

Thank you all for the advice I am getting my unemployment from the state on a prepaid debit card but my federal $600 check they're all backed up that's what they're telling me and on the computer you can see that they were sent and processed on the computer it says that I received three checks and one day back in May I never received three checks ever so that is my fight they said I received checks in April I received one check my fight is that they owe me a lot of back $600 checks that they sent out and it's been processed that's what it says on the computer and I never received them that's my fight😡😡

Hi

Either:

- the post office still has your checks sitting in a back room

- the UE computer is wrong

- someone stole your checks.

My vote is post office back office since the federal government won’t give them enough money.

But you also can see if the checks were cashed.  Even if they weren’t cashed and it might be the UE office’s mistake, you can still then put a stop payment on them and get them resent.

If your post office is not delivering all its mail you are out of luck because they won’t give it to you if you go down there

Maybe you can get it direct deposit

Thank you for the reply yes I've been to my local post office and they they do not have mail there for me the UE is not wrong do we have my co-workers and my neighbor who all have direct deposit all got 17 checks my neighbor just got $10,000 put in her account for all her back checks because of the direct deposit but I do believe that it is not the government it is definitely the Postal Service I did not know that they did not send help during the pandemic like they did with the Frontline workers doctor ,nurses so it makes sense that things would be delayed I just need to put my faith and God and hope that I get my back checks I'm in the middle of filing for bankruptcy and I cannot open up a checking account due to that. It's complicated don't want to put all my personal business out there but thank you if anybody has any advice I surely appreciate everyone on here

I will need to apply for Medicare and have been studying up on the tax implications. I’m realizing that I need to find a good tax specialist in retirement. Anyone have any referrals, preferably a specialist who is knowledgeable about Medicare. I have read not all tax specialists are familiar with tax laws on Medicare. Between inflation, Covid-19, increasing taxes, increasing Medicare costs, and the uncertainty in the market, I believe that without serious planning, it’s going to be rough on retirees who don’t stay ahead of the tax man.

If you were actually able to talk to a live person at the unemployment office you are very lucky I have friends who have been trying to get there unemployment checks for 7 weeks as for me I have been waiting for 4 weeks and there is no way to talk to anyone with the numbers that have been provided. All you keep getting is a recording .  It is very frustrating !
