Person w/Disabilities Needs Advice

Hello All,

I’m new here and have some questions. Like the title says I’m disabled and receive SSD which isnt all that much which any other disabled person would know. Does anyone know whether a disabled person could legally invest without jeopardizing SSD? If its possible where do I start? I know its probably a large subject with a million questions and lots to learn. Can anyone give me some advice please? Thank you.

That is a good question. I would consult with a broker and see where you stand legally.

Before you speak with a broker maybe take a look at some of the Pennyhoarder’s articles on investing. I like roboinvesting. I invest with Acorns, tiny amounts, like $20 per week and sometimes $5 per day. I know there are other places to invest, such as Robinhood or others. Good luck to you.

Hi

if you are on SSD you probably can have a certain number of assets like a car. Maybe investing counts as an asset. I would call the SSD office and ask them.

We’ve all had DUH moments! Many of them go unspoken.
