I’m new to investing. As in, I want to start. I don’t totally trust big companies like Wells Fargo and was reading on here about a website called Fundrise. Has anyone used this? Is it a legit site? I feel more comfortable using that type of investing. Any help would be appreciated!
Yes! I’ve heard great things about it. The Penny Hoarder also partners with them. Check out this article for more information:

Awesome. Thank you!
I’ve been thinking about Fundrise as well.
I’ve been doing some research on them, and YES, they seem to be a legit site. I’ve seen companies like this that have worked well for people who started late in their lives as far as preparing for retirement. It worked quite well for them, and they made above-average income from their investment. It’s worth the risk, but I would not put all of my eggs into one basket.
Sound like a great investment
It would be nice if someone gave an example of a ballpark investment profit? Say…I put in $500 1/1 and bought pieces of 2 properties and got $1500 by 12/31.
@kj, I just got a notice of the dividends just to entice me to join…I’ll see if I can find it and post it. I f****ound the email…
Over $7.2 million in total 2019 Q3 distributions. |
Fundrise investors just received their Q3 2019 dividend payments, totalling over $7.2 million, net of fees. Over the first half of 2019, we distributed over $15.5 million. Across all of 2018, Fundrise dividend payments totaled over $20 million. It’s worth noting that dividends make up only a portion of our portfolio returns — Fundrise investments are designed to generate returns through appreciation, too. As always, though, please remember that past performance is not indicative of future results, and future dividends are not guaranteed. Ready to explore private real estate’s unique potential? |
I hope this helps
I have had my eye on Fundrise for quite some time now. I have not yet pulled the trigger and invested with them but they are definitely on my radar for a future investment opportunity.
I have heard only good things about them and as they do partner with The Penny Hoarder you can trust that they are reputable.
I personally have been investing for quite some time with Rich Uncles which is similar to Fundrise but does not require quite as much to begin.
@moore.income thanks for that input. I also have been looking at Fundrise but, like you, I haven’t “pulled the trigger” on it. I’ve considered it as recently as last week. My wife wants me to wait another few weeks to a month just to see what others we know say. thank you for mentioning “Rich Uncles”. I had lost that name and couldn’t for the life of me remember it. Blessings, friend.

Yes Thank you for the info but I was thinking more in terms of investor profits vs company profits.
I am so sorry…I don’t have that information yet. I’ve been looking for that kind of thing myself. It’s one of the things that I have been holding out for before I invest in them. You could write their investment counsellors and they could probably give you that information. Hope that helps. I’m still waiting for them to answer.
