Applying for a secured or prepaid credit card may help with your score. I also check Credit Sesame and Credit Karma regularly to review my score, but I would look into applying for a secured or prepaid card and making small purchases monthly and then paying off those charges. I don’t know too much about it, but you may also want to look into Experian Boost. Good luck!
Depends on your situation. But general guidelines are keep utilization below 30%, keep longest card or account open, pay all bills on time.
As @lismox said, and I echo, get a secured credit card. I would also like to suggest look into to a credit builder loan. A credit builder loan works like this, for example, you agree to pay $25.00 a month for 12 months. The loan gets put in a CD, to earn interest(for the company, they have to make their money). At the end of your agreement you get the loan money(in a check and/or direct deposit). I know about this because of articles I have read that were suggested by credit building advisors and from hands on experience(yep I have one).
P.S. my credit score has gone up like 42 points in 6 months, since getting this. There are a couple other factors involved too. When I started working on my credit it was around 490, I’m at 597 now. If I can do it, so can anybody else.
