Which places you have traveled to did you enjoy most, and why?

I have only been to different destinations in Africa. Haven’t left the continent…yet…lol! But I did enjoy both Zimbabwe and Botswana. The latter in particular. Such a peaceful place.

From Gaborone to Kasane is basically the entire Botswana. With Kasane in the heart of the Okavango Delta. In other words a Paradise. Where wildlife is highly valued and nurtured. We had awesome game drives and even heard of buffalo passing through our tented accommodation. A rather exhilarating experience I may add. Luckily no one was injured.

I ran into a brown hyena, and am still not sure who had the biggest fright. The hyena or I? Although I did do the 100 meters in record time! I would live in Kasane in a heartbeat.

Where have you been that had some exhilarating experiences?

I am a traveler at heart so I tend to enjoy nearly every place I visit. For me, there is just something about exploring a new place and learning about a different culture that is just exhilarating. Because of this, I am actually focusing a lot more of my efforts in the travel industry.

Every country is different and every continent is different.

I have visited both Canada and Mexico in North America and have traveled quite a bit in the United States. Cancun, Mexico was where my wife and I went for our honeymoon and I have already had the desire to go back.

My first trip outside of the U.S. was a trip to Guatemala with my Dad and sister where we studied Spanish for a month. It was quite a culture shock but we got to experience lots of cool stuff including hiking up an active volcano!

After that, my family moved to Panama for 8 months which is where I really learned to speak Spanish much better and it was a very great experience.

As a teenager, my family lived in Nicaragua, Central America so that country holds a special place in my heart having lived there for over 4 years.

While living in the area, I also visited Costa Rica and Honduras, both unique in their own perspective.

Since moving back to the States, I have also visited the country of Uruguay in South America, and Bulgaria in Europe.

Bulgaria was an interesting experience for me as it was a lot different than the culture I was used to, but the history and natural beauty of the country were absolutely amazing.

On the way back from Uruguay, we had a layover in Colombia and left the airport for a few hours. Those few hours were all it took and now I can’t wait for a chance to visit there for a longer period of time.

Next on the travel plans is a trip to Peru in July. Also, my wife is from the Philippines and we really want to get a chance to go down there. To meet her family primarily, but also because it is said to be a beautiful country!

My wife and I are also working on a plan to travel all 50 states in a unique way and is something we are really looking forward to and have plans to start as early as September.

As you can see, we really love to travel!

On a side note, my family is actually packing as we speak with plans to move to Botswana on March 27. So who knows, maybe someday in the near future I may end up in your neck of the woods! :)

Well my Spanish is a little rusted @moore.income. I do speak some of the local languages in South Africa (Zulu and Fanakalo). Interesting enough Fanakalo is a language that was developed on the mines. And a combination of many African languages. It was compulsory to speak when I completed an apprenticeship as an Electrician on the Coal Mines. But my Spanish is really limited…lol!

You clearly traveled a lot more than me. I have quite a bit of catching up to do. You’re going to love Botswana. And it actually is basically just up my alley. Around 4 hours drive from where I am in the Johannesburg area to reach the Tlokweng gate closest to Gaborone.

We traveled allot when we was younger. My husband and I are both from
New York.

First time we moved was to Florida. My husband dad was sick.
I was 16 at the time. We went down there and Ocala was so pretty
at the time. It had horse farms all over the place. You could buy
fresh produce from the farm stands. Hubby and I even started one
our self’s. We all so lived in sliver springs. There they have a place
where you can ride on boats with a glass bottom and see what is in
the water. It was nice.

Our 2nd trip was to California with kids. What fun it was to have the kids
with us. I could tell you some funny stories of our travels with the kids.
California is so pretty where we was you could look up and see the mountains
and the snow. But we couldn’t take the heat 121 when we left. Plus the gang
shooting. Didn’t want our children growing up in that world. So we move back to New York.

Our last move is Kansas. Its nice here. Have allot of farmers down here.
Small town life we lived in now since we moved down here.

But New York will all ways be my home. I miss it but ever thing has getting
so high there. We lived upstate ny. There was cow farms up there nice to
have fresh milk to.

I served in the USMC for 12 years. I have been all through Central & South America, West Africa, the Orient & Central Asia. I loved that part with the service, I could have enjoyed it more if I wasn’t there to perform my MOS each time. (8654)

I look forward to traveling again soon. I’m 52, house is paid in full, along with the car, the truck, my Roth is current & fully funded, I had invested money from an inheritance ( which my ex wife scolded me over) I bought 850 BITCOIN back early on for around $136 each. I don’t have to tell you how that turned out. I sold off 620 in December of 2017 for around $13,600 each. (Smdh @my ex wife)

@j.glenn.bryant thank you for your service! The military does offer a great opportunity to travel in some cases.

It sounds like you have done pretty well for yourself financially and rewarding yourself by traveling is a great option!

What were some of your favorite spots that you visited or some places on your bucket list?
