How to find side hustles...

How do you find side hustles when you don’t have experience? Are there any that don’t require years of experience?

What is postmates? I know Shipt won’t do for me as I’m not anywhere near Atlanta. Ubereats won’t either. :frowning:

I have a friend who lives in a town in Mississippi where there is only one stoplight and when she couldn’t drive she used uber and lyft for rides. there is also no bus service and no taxi service, plus there is only a MacDonald’s (which does ubereats, a lot) and she has used it.
Post mates is a courier service. you can say that you want food from Buffalo Wings, and so the postmates person goes into Buffalo Wings, orders exactly what you want and waits for it and then delivers it to your home. at Christmas I got some Postmates stuff that was like go pick up a prepaid order at Walmart. when you sign on to do the order (delivery) the place that you are picking up from and the customer, both get notified who is doing it and if you are using a bicycle and what kind or a car and what kind and color. I have had orders from Buffalo Wings. if the customer can pay for the order on line or through the app, you are going in to pick up the order and that’s when the restaurant or store or whatever finds out who you are before you get there. Postmates can be slow. they stay in constant communication w/ you, which is key, and you are able to stay in constant communication w/ them and the customer. Postmates is mostly what you do to pick up some pocket money here in Houston, but in LA it’s really REALLY big. the single most expensive meal delivery service is doordash and they aren’t very good.
btw, I haven’t worked in 2 days bc the weather you will get tomorrow and Saturday is the weather I have had for the past 2 days. I only do at most 6 deliveries a day, 6 days a week. I have chronic issues and while it’s good to go out and do stuff everyday, I still receive federal disability and i’m limited on how much money I can make, gross monthly

You can try looking at The Penny Hoarder website for suggested side hustles. So far i’ve done some passive income which probably won’t net you the amount of money that you may be hoping for. Postmates and Shipt are good suggestions as well as Bitesquad. I know some people that do various things from dog sitting to reselling items on ebay or amazon.

i’ve never heard of bitesquad, I will have to look into that. I currently do alittle work for postmates and shipt. I also do ubereats. i’m trying to find something a bit more passive bc beginning next week the weather is going to get hot and stay that way until October. I live in Houston and it’s just VERY VERY VERY hot here in the summer

@misty I agree that delivery is a great side hustle that doesn’t require any prior experience. I have delivered for Bitesquad, Door Dash, and Instacart and have recently signed up for Postmates and GrubHub.

I wrote a post here on the forum a while back going into a little bit more detail about food delivery, you can find it here if interested:

I make a couple hundred dollars every month on InstaGC, Swagbucks, and Prolific Academic. They have lots of different things to do - taking surveys, watching videos, playing games, signing up for email newsletters, printing coupons, etc.

@vanessa Which of those three do you like working with the best?

I use InstaGC the most just because that’s the first site I started using. Swagbucks might be easier to learn though. I highly recommend joining the Facebook group Swagbucks Swaggernauts, it is SO helpful in learning how to use the site. And for Prolific Academic I just keep a browser tab open to it and do the surveys whenever they pop up.

It’s a website where you can earn money by doing a bunch of different things…taking surveys, watching videos, printing coupons, signing up for newsletters. Tons of stuff.

I have tried InboxDollars but never really was able to get anywhere with them. A lot of survey sites I have found pay too little and don’t work very well.

I am currently using a site called YouGov which gives you a survey or two every couple of days. They pay decent points and don’t end your survey because you don’t qualify. I am half way to a $15 Amazon card doing a few simple surveys here and there.

Interested in trying InstaGC, just haven’t got around to signing up.

Let me know if you need a referral link for InstaGC! I’ve been using it for a number of years now, I really like it.
