I would like to know how senior citizens living on only a pension are managing
It’s not easy we just learn to do without unless really needed. It’s horrible to get old and have to live on such a small amount.
I feel your stress…I’m widowed and have to watch every penny…
I guess pension and Social Security can be interchangeable. I’m watching my parents go through this right now and it’s hard. The good thing is they own their home outright, but even with that, it’s a stretch when you only get paid once a month. They have an aging car and there’s no money to replace it. And they already owe an equity loan on the house, thank God not for a lot of money, but still. Healthcare costs have been high and they are forgoing some visits/treatments because of this. Thankfully, they budget as best they can, always have food, clothes and what they need.
They have to stretch like a rubber band… many times having to do without. I own an outdated car and I pray over it every time i have to go very far. Can’t afford a trade up…
I live in Canada and its the same here. Also widowed so it got tighter when my hubby passed. The rents are sky high up here too. We do have some medical coverage but its getting less and less all the time.
