Navient does not allow any deferrments during covid19 as approved by our federal government. I owe $77K. Any ideas for how to reduce this or pay it off quicker? I’m only paying on interest now and want to get rid of it, finally. I am now fully retired with significantly reduced income.

I am in the same boat as you are. I only owe 11,000 of an over 40,000 loan. I checked into forgiveness of the loan but you have to be working. I will be dead by before this loan is paid off. If anyone knows how to get this loan written off, I sure would like to know how. I am now on a fixed income so I make the minimum payment most of the time. I pay more if I can. I worked for the Federal Government for 37 years.
