Hi,

My Husband owes state taxes, not federal. His federal tax refund always goes to the state to pay what he owes, he always receives a letter from the IRS. He never received the first stimulus ( 1200)or the second second (600) when he goes to the IRS website it says he is not eligible. He never received a letter stating his stimulus went to the state. Am I wrong in assuming he should have been eligible? Any info is appreciated.

If you usually owe money to the IRS they don’t have your bank information on file like for those who receive refund checks. Go to IRS and update information with bank account so they can deposit it. That is what happened to me since I always owe and never get refunds I had to set up my bank account. Hope this helps.
