Let Go app

I am interested in trying the Let Go app as I have some stuff I would like to clear from my life… I do not want to get into Ebay fees and the like as I have used that before. I would like to know if you have used Let Go app? what you liked about it? did you find too time consuming? what arrangements did you make to meet & sell items?

I tired it, but very briefly. I found that my things sold faster on FB marketplace. In terms of meeting to buy/sell, I generally meet in the parking lot of the 24 hour drugstore, and during the day. Sometime I will even meet people in the lobby of my office. I know that many people meet in the police parking lot, but I haven’t gone there yet. I have never had any issues with the exchange.

I have heard mixed reviews about LetGo but as Kelly mentioned, I think FB marketplace is a better option.

I use it, but it has not been fruitful for me. I have done better on Facebook. When I do meet with people, I meet them on my porch. You are better off meeting in public, but since I don’t drive, that is what I do. It appears to me that the sellers are all the same no matter who does the buying. You can get tricky buyers anywhere.

Ive used LetGo and a few similar apps. Im even an admin of a community based app. I find that people might show interest in something I have for sale, then disappear. I respond saying that its still avail and no response. I eventually let the app go. lol I also have found that some apps charge fee’s if you want your item to be promoted or bumped up to be seen again. I agree that facebook marketplace is the next best way to go. I personally haven’t had tons of success (still have peeps who ask about something, then crickets), but have heard others have had very good success. Guess it depends on what is being sold and the price. Be aware though that facebook is sensitive sometimes to what is posted or what Is said in the post. I posted a game called whack a mole and it was flagged as a possible prohibited item. I think the bots are picking up the word “whack”. Others have posted a mannequin for sale and the bots pick up the “nude” photo of the mannequin. lol Always meet at a public place or police station. Good Luck

Went thru a recent major downsizing (from 4 bdrm house with dbl garage and huge yard to 2 bdrm single garage no yard). I know general consensus is garage sales are waste of time, but I did one, and then another 2 months later. Lots of work, but had lots of stuff to get rid of. Made over $1300 each sale. After first garage sale, I posted bigger, bulkier items I needed to get rid of (Treadmill; elliptical; bicycle) and costly items (proBMX bike; 2 pro scooters) on Let Go and Offer Up. Was my first and only experience selling on-line. Simple, easy process. Was leary of having interested buyers come to residence, but these large items were in my garage and I was never alone. Fortunately, first person (a woman) that came to look at my items bought the treadmill, elliptical, and bike before my second garage sale even took place. The remaining items I think are in the wrong forum—a $1100 Pro-BMX bike and 2 Pro-scooters $800 each when new. Excellent condition, excellent products, custom features, etc. I’ve set fair and reasonable selling prices; have stated in the comments “no trades”; “not negotiable”. My postings have gotten lots of looks, saves as “favs” etc. My annoyance is lookers/buyers that want the stuff for free and disregard anything I’ve posted in comments about the items I’m selling if they don’t want to accept what they’ve read… I don’t need a used cable modem box or a grandfather’s clock or a drill. And you really think I’m going to accept an offer of $60 for a bike listed at $350?.. If they don’t like your response or don’t get their way, some can get a little ornery with their comments. I did not research if I could report them—sure there are avenues for that stuff. In my opinion, this method of selling/buying is just another version, another take on garage sale selling. For what it’s worth, I would definitely use Let Go first over Over Up—appeared as if Let Go users were more professional in nature overall.

I had 50 some ads up in various Facebook pages/groups. Every single on of them was flagged as trying to sell illegals. I was selling clothes and shoes. Ever since Facebook took away the ability to bump up your ad, many people are getting their ads flagged. Then you have to fight with those in control of things on Facebook. That can take up to a week or more.

I don’t use facebook. I’ve tried offerup…still waiting. Maybe i’ll try Letgo.

I am getting frustrated with selling…

Selling can be frustrating, but it can also be very rewarding. Hang in there @mskimberly and if there is anything I can be of help with, please let me know.

One of the reasons I like selling on eBay is that things are much more stable as far as rules and regulations go. They tell you what you can and cannot list and as long as you follow those, you will be fine.

It goes without saying though, any platform you sell on will have its fair share of obstacles to overcome. Just treat each one as a learning experience.

I have tried letgo and I liked it before they started using the inx or what ever it’s called because you have to have a lot of it to purchase anything, I also like eBay out of all the selling and buying sitesf it’s simplicity, cut and dried that’s how I like it.

@moore.income Thanks, Jon. I can see Ebay being fruitful because you have so many people looking at your items.

I need to clarify my statement about letgo, I mistakenly said I used to be with letgo until they started a different way of payment process, but I used to be with the buy sell and trade site Listia, they started a different payment process called inkx or something like that. However I have been with letgo but have never have sold anything on their site. Sorry if I confused anyone?
